Our Environmental Assessment is a personalized, in-person service designed to help young adults with disabilities figure out what kind of work environment they’ll thrive in before they’re placed in a job.
It’s not just about whether they can do the job — it’s about whether it feels safe, manageable, and right for them.
This is how we’re able to find the right match.
How much interaction the job requires with other people
What the physical layout is like (indoor vs. outdoor, standing vs. sitting, etc.)
What time of day the shift would be and if that works for their energy level
How loud or quiet the space is
How fast-paced or calm the work feels
Whether there are strong smells, bright lights, or distractions
We visit a real job site and spend time observing the space and your client, taking note of things like:
Some people thrive in busy environments. Others need quieter, slower-paced work.
For those with anxiety or sensory sensitivities, the wrong setting can quickly become overwhelming, even if the actual job is something they could succeed at.
By doing an Environmental Assessment first, we help families avoid frustration, failed placements, and setbacks. We get clear on what supports might be needed (like headphones, modified hours, or role adjustments) before we move forward.
It’s all about setting the stage for success.
Young adults who need extra support understanding what type of workplace fits them best
Clients who’ve had challenges in past job settings due to anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or social overwhelm
Families who want to set their child up for success before job placement begins
